MOM, ESQ.

Prior to opening this firm, Lisa founded Mom, Esq., a successful law practice specializing in maternity leaves and domestic employment issues. After becoming a mom herself, she saw a void in the legal services offered to families and created a niche to deliver counsel to many who found themselves vulnerable and unaware of the existing (and changing) employment laws. Whereas big law firm clients had the resources to seek counsel to make sure that they were protected, she noticed that even the most thoughtful, organized and resourceful parents simply didn’t know to consider the legal issues that affected their families once their children were born. Furthermore, they didn’t know where to go for the answers.

Mom, Esq. was a place where these parents would feel comfortable asking questions, parent-to-parent, and get straightforward answers from someone who understands employment law. While the scope of Lisa’s practice has shifted over time, Lisa remains a strong supporter of women’s rights and hopes to empower women who want to continue their careers after becoming a parent to do so.
